Overview:
Are you a welcoming, detail-oriented professional with a passion for exceptional customer service? As a Patient Care Representative at our award-winning ophthalmology practice, you’ll be the face of our front office by greeting patients, managing smooth check-ins and scheduling, verifying insurance, and handling Electronic Health Records. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love creating positive patient experiences, we’d love to meet you! Note: Occasional travel between our Monmouth County locations may be required. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Extend a warm greeting to patients, ensuring their experience is positive and comfortable.  
  • Handle incoming calls with professionalism, taking messages, and providing accurate information as needed.  
  • Efficiently manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish.  
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and confirmations, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.  
  • Verify insurance eligibility and update patient information.   
  • Collect co-pays and patient payments with precision and courtesy.  
  • Utilize our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system effectively to maintain accurate patient records.  
  • Obtain referrals and prior authorizations, ensuring timely access to care.  
  • Manage confirmation calls and patient recalls supporting continuity of care.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.  
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.  
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records.  
  • Prior experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred.  
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.  
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and scheduling procedures is a plus.  
  • Bilingual Preferred. 

Education Requirement:
  • High School Diploma or GED 

Work Schedule: 
8:30AM-5:00PM; Flexibility is key, with occasional availability required on Saturdays and evenings.
